Ali’i Drive: Dreams Video
http://youtu.be/FyDVKA61iMI?t=3m5s
I love this video for several reasons but the good stuff starts around the 3 minute mark.
Chris McCormick talks about how at the age of 15 he and his best friend wrote down a list of 15 dream races that they wanted to do. He shared that if you were to come to his house today you will see that list hung up and framed. Not only has Chris raced all those races, and has won every single one of them.
Meredith Kessler and Lindsay Corbin talk about how they incorporate visualization on training rides and runs. Meredith Kessler said, “I dream the most when I am in a workout…that’s when all the visualization comes in.” Tim O’Donnell shares, “My biggest dream is to win Kona and I do see that in my mind a lot, crossing the tape, and imaging how that feel to lift that banner up in Kona.”
Have you written down your dreams? The job, the race, the performance, or goal?
Have you written out in every detail how you want to feel, what you see, hear, smell, etc.?
Do you review it each day, several times a day?
Do you see it unfolding like a movie effortlessly and vividly?
Does it connect to a deep sense of your beliefs and values?
If not, maybe that is why your dream is still a dream versus a goal, and then a reality.
Taking the time to write out your dreams, to really think about them, to get a clear picture of what you really want in life is very powerful, and can give you direction. However, I believe that the most successful dreams come from a deep sense of purpose. Are your dreams lining up with your purpose?
