We Are Reflections

I read somewhere that people in our lives are reflections of who we are.  Life is a mirror, reflecting back to us the “reality” of our perception. Consciously or unconsciously the people in our lives represent an aspect, or aspects of ourselves. Do we like these people and all their unique qualities? Do some of them rub you the wrong way? Is there someone that we admire? envy? or even dare I say it, feel jealous of?  What is it about them that makes us feel this way? List off the spectrum of those qualities and try to come to terms that we have probably at some point in our lives have acted out of that quality or similar. For better or for worse, we have been both loving and fearful, both inspiring and rude, both empowering and judging….but no matter what we are ALL human. When we come to really accept this, we treat each person that enters our life as a reflection of ourselves and therefore treat them with much more compassion.

Right now I am visiting family in the Michigan and there is nothing more enlightening, challenging, and nurturing, then being with all my family and all our “craziness.” Being with my family never fails to  remind me of where I came from, my grounding my roots, how far I’ve come, and the meaning of where I am going.

Hope you’re having a great week my friends and SHINE ON! Hope you can appreciate the humor below…
