It’s been a while but I have not forgotten about my blog. I will be updating more later but here is a great quote from one of my favorite athletes:
“I ran as hard as I could. In fact, I hobbled past two people in the last two laps. I was 13th, and way off a PR, but I hit the goal I had set for myself. I absolutely never gave up in the race.”
Kara Goucher on her performance at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea
In life and sport I believe what gets us through the tough transitions and “races” in life is an undying spirit to never give up. If we do not have this at the bedrock of our character than we can fall victim to measuring our successes/value by external outcomes or opinions of others. A steadfast belief in our own ability then becomes our anchor when life brings it’s ups and downs. I may not know about you BUT I do know about me….I don’t give up:)
Love this quote!!
Congrats on your past races…what an inspiration! – I just love how you are so passionate in helping athletes reach their dreams by focusing on the mental side of training. Could you send me an email when you get a chance….I would LOVE a little of your expertise in my final prep before Kona š
have a great week!!!
