“Just to be Free…”

While jamming out to my Ipod this morning at the gym, listening to “Release Yourself” podcast with Roger Sanchez, I was inspired by the song “Free” that I have posted the song and lyrics below for you.I really love upbeat drum and base house music with good messages. This song had a verse that really stuck with me..”And what the rest of us know is that you didn’t have the knowledge to know that you’re Free, to do what you want and that you’re Free, what a beautiful thought.”

I really connected this with my life work and passionempower  and inspire people to challenge the mental barriers so that they can live the life they truly desire for themselves.  This is a tough job, people are very loyal to their beliefs, especially if they lived with them for 20, 30, 40, 50 + years. However, I’m up to the challenge and have been because I believe that “freedom” is a state of mind. Free the mind and the body will follow. It is something that no one can determine for you. Sure we have politics, laws, etc. that give the appearance of “limitations” but many great people in our history and cultura have demonstrated to us otherwise e.g. Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez. These people, like many others, choose to think something different that impacted history forever, but despite that some people live in a state of bondage…This is most easily identified when I hear, “I can’t, I should, but what if, only when___ then I will be happy or do that thing I always wanted to do.”  Each day I encounter people that struggle with mental bondages of fear, anxiety, sadness, unsatisfactory lives, stress, hopelessness, monotony, plateaus, etc. I notice it in the most subtle ways. Our/my aim is to help, inspire, motivate, support, and encourage people to release themselves from their mental prisons/bondage and liberate the mind.

How will you free your mind today? Is there one excuse you can let go of today and Just Do It?  If you’re having trouble figuring it out  reflect on some of the definitions below…listen to the song…and just jam out and be Free for a moment:)

Lyrics: Get Far- Free

Once you’re driven, you want it, cannot be given, you got it
And when you figure the moment that you’re the best, you’re devoted
Then you’ll take a second to confess that you’re committed
And what the rest of us know is that you didn’t have the knowledge to know that you’re
Free, to do what you want and that you’re
Free, a beautiful thought and that you’re
Free, to do what you want when you want and you want and you want and you want
Just to be free

Now you’ve finally been givin’ so how’s the freedom you livin’
And when you rise in the morning don’t you forget that you want it because
They can take it any second, any minute
And what the rest of us know is that you didn’t have the knowledge to know that you’re
Free, to do what you want and that you’re
Free, a beautiful daughter and that you’re
Free, to do what you want when you want and you want and you want and you want
Just to be free

Just to be free
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, oh
And what the rest of us know is that you didn’t have the know, the know, the know, the know,
Just to be free
Oh, what the rest of us know is that you didn’t have the knowledge
Just to be free
Just to be free
